Introduction

Discover the enduring charm of 16th century England, the changing America of the 1920s and the vibrant culture of the 21st century at Salisbury House & Gardens. A custom web design, content management, and hosting package were all included in this project.

Objective

Salisbury House & Gardens hired VSi to expand their online presence. Because of the variety of opportunities hosted at Salisbury House throughout the year, they wanted an easy way to manage and promote their events. In addition. offering a seamless way for users to become a member, make or donation or purchase an event ticket was one of their highest priorities.

Because their previous site did not offer online purchase options, VSi developed custom tools that integrated credit card payments.

Strategy

While the new Salisbury site features a wealth of information about the history and property itself, the most time-intensive part of the project revolved around combining the membership, donation and ticketing purchases into one streamlined process. As a non-profit organization, Salisbury wanted a user-friendly checkout for users to purchase tickets and make a donation or choose to become a member.

The new site, which was launched in early 2011, has seen a steady increase in site traffic from 2,000 unique visitors per month to over double that this summer.
