Get to Know: Production Specialist, Alecia McEachran

Start off by telling everyone about yourself:

I am originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa but moved to Des Moines to attend Drake University where I got a degree in Computer Science and Graphic Design. I currently live with my boyfriend and adorable kitty in Urbandale.

What is your professional background?

I learned HTML and CSS in college and created a few websites in my free time. I've also done some web management at a previous internship as well as a lot of design work for different magazines on campus.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love bowling, golfing, watching football (go Vikings!), binge watching TV shows, playing games, spending time with family, going for walks, camping, and reading.

Where is your favorite place to eat in Des Moines?

There are too many good places to eat. Some of my favorites are Zombie Burger, Old Chicago, The Cheesecake Factory, Famous Dave's, and Macaroni Grill, to name a few.

What is your favorite season and why?

I love the summer because you can do more things outside and I am always cold unless it's at least 70 degrees out.

Best book or blog you've read lately?

I've recently gotten into books about psychology. I have been reading The Power of Habit lately, which I've really enjoyed. I find learning about the brain and why we do the things we do to be fascinating!

What is one thing you could not live a day without?

I could not live a day without the wonderful people in my life.

What are your words to live by?

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

What are you loving at the moment?

I have never been much of a cat person before, but I am absolutely loving my boyfriend's kitty. I can't wait to play and cuddle with him every day!

Anything else we should know?

I can solve a rubik's cube in two minutes and say the alphabet backwards. Oh, and I have a phobia of lotion.
